Kyler Murray 2019 Player Outlook: QB1 with League Winning Upside
6 years agoDo not be afraid of rookies. Do not fall into the "Let me see him do it first" trap. The only real sure thing at QB this year is Patrick Mahomes and he is going to cost you a top 36 pick. Kyler Murray was one of the most prolific college QBs of all time running the same air raid offense that Kliff Kingsbury is going to have him run in Arizona. In 2018, we saw very flawed passers in Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen thrive in fantasy due to their rushing ability. Imagine if they could actually throw? In 2019, you won't have to because you will see it with Murray. The Cardinals may very well lead the league in pass attempts. If not lead the league, they will be at the top. Murray could push 600 attempts. While passing volume has little correlation with fantasy success, it does correlate to the overall success of the offense because passing is better than throwing. The Cardinals will be able to extend drives and score more points as a team, which means more scoring opportunities for Murray. With a wealth of weapons at his disposal in a rising Christian Kirk, a still reliable Larry Fitzgerald, and the best receiving back in the league in David Johnson (not to mention three rookie WRs), Murray is setup to explode in year one. The only question is how high?
