Jamaal Williams Workload Shrinks Further
6 years agoGreen Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams saw his role diminish even further in Week 10. He had only three carries for three yards against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday afternoon. Williams started the year as Green Bay’s starting running back. It became clear early that Williams is more of a bruiser who relies on a large workload to produce. While he has been reliable and an excellent pass protector, he just isn’t an efficient runner. This style just hasn’t matched up well in an Aaron Rodgers led offense with a heavy passing attack. He has been overtaken on the depth chart by running back Aaron Jones. Jones was dominant in the game and there is little reason to think that he will cede any additional touches to Williams going forward. Williams would only have fantasy value at this point if Aaron Jones were to go down with an injury. Even if that were to happen his ceiling would still be limited. He can safely be left on the waiver wire heading into Week 11.
