Despite Opening, Equanimeous St. Brown To Remain On Bench
6 years agoGreen Bay Packers rookie wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown has flashed at points this year. His combination of size and speed makes him a matchup nightmare. However, he has also displayed his weaknesses throughout the past few weeks that explain why he remains at the bottom of Green Bay’s depth chart. St. Brown still makes mistakes with his route running which has hurt quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ confidence in him. St. Brown also has a habit of catching passes very close to his body, largely negating his excellent size and making some catches seem iffier than necessary. Theoretically St. Brown would have an opportunity to expand on his role with the absence of wide receiver Geronimo Allison, who was recently placed on IR. However, last week St. Brown only saw 15 snaps even though Allison was inactive. While St. Brown has an intriguing future, he has no immediate fantasy relevance even with a favorable matchup against the Miami Dolphins in Week 10. St. Brown is a solid end of the roster stash in dynasty formats but should not be owned in any redraft leagues.
