Aaron Rodgers Throws Two Touchdowns In Loss
6 years agoGreen Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw for 259 yards on 24-for-43 passing with two touchdowns in a Week 9 Sunday night matchup against the New England Patriots. The stat line was not wholly disappointing, but clearly fell short of expectations for Rodgers as Green Bay’s offense struggled at moments during the game. Rodgers was playing without his brace for the first time since he suffered a knee injury in Week 1. His mobility is still limited to some degree and he has seemed skittish at times about getting hit. When combined with Green Bay’s archaic offensive system, which struggles to get receivers open easily, it has led to Rodgers throwing off-balance and frequently throwing the ball away. Rodgers looked better last week against the Los Angeles Rams despite a worse fantasy day and the hope was that he would build off of it. At this point there has to be some doubt as to whether there will be a fix for Green Bay’s offense this season. For the time being you should still view Rodgers as an elite fantasy option who should always be started. Despite few monster stat games, his floor is incredibly high and he is more likely to sort things out than not going forward.
