Touchdown Salvages Jamaal Williams Week 8 Performance
6 years agoGreen Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams had nine yards rushing on four attempts in a Week 8 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He added a touchdown to salvage the day. Williams has continued to see his role decrease as the year goes on. Running back Aaron Jones saw three times as many carries on the day. The reality is that Williams is an underwhelming rusher and that despite his excellent pass blocking it is hard to keep him on the field if he can’t produce with the ball in his hands. Green Bay has continued to rely on a committee approach in order to keep everyone’s legs fresh, but Williams should continue to take a backseat in Green Bay’s offense. This was the first time all season that Williams scored a touchdown and he should not be relied upon to score many more. Outside of injuries there is no reason to start Williams even in deeper leagues. Williams has a lack of upside makes rostering Williams difficult to justify.
