Aaron Rodgers Has Mediocre Stats in Excellent Performance
6 years agoGreen Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw for 286 yards on 18-for-30 passing with one touchdown in a losing effort against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8. While the stat line wasn’t a disaster, it was still underwhelming by Rodgers’ standards. Despite the underwhelming stat line, this was actually one of Rodgers better performances of the year. His accuracy was improved over past weeks and he avoided sacks as he consistently moved the ball downfield. The difference was Green Bay’s moribund rushing attack managed to get into the end zone this week, robbing Rodgers of the touchdown volume he is accustomed to. Rodgers has had a slow start in the past few seasons and that appears to be the case this year as well. This game looks like sign that everything is coming together for him and that he will have some big performances against defenses less imposing than the Rams. While the fantasy production may not inspire much confidence, you should feel comfortable relying on Rodgers more than ever. He remains a top tier fantasy option every week for the rest of the season.
