Marquez Valdes-Scantling Likely To See Role Reduced in Week 8
6 years agoDespite some encouraging performances, Green Bay rookie wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling is likely to spend much of Week 8 on the bench. Valdes-Scantling saw a lot of snaps and targets in Green Bay’s last two games, but with wide receivers Geronimo Allison (hamstring) and Randall Cobb (hamstring) likely returning for Week 8’s game against the Los Angeles Rams Valdes-Scantling’s role will be reduced. Valdes-Scantling has clearly surpassed the other rookies on the depth chart to become the fourth option in Green Bay. While he has shown some promise, it hasn’t been quite enough there to warrant starting him over more experienced options. This is especially true in Green Bay where both quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the coaching staff value experience. Valdes-Scantling will maintain some low-end flex value if either Allison or Cobb does not play, otherwise he should not be started in fantasy.
