Aaron Jones Sees Significant Action
6 years agoGreen Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones ran the ball nine times for 34 yards with a touchdown in Thursday’s preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He added three receptions for 21 yards on four targets. Jones had missed much of the preseason with a hamstring injury, so while most of the Green Bay starters rested he saw some extended action to get him ready for the upcoming year. Jones started the game out strong but his efficiency declined as the game went on. A good sign for him was his usage and success in the passing game. Jones struggled catching the ball last year, so it was nice to see him be productive in that area of the game. Jones is suspended the first two weeks of the season and will have an uphill battle to unseat running back Jamaal Williams as the lead runner in Green Bay. He is the most dangerous running back on the team with the ball in his hands so he has a shot. Jones should be viewed as a late round flyer in most leagues.
