Ty Montgomery Inactive in Fourth Preseason Game
6 years agoGreen Bay Packers running back Ty Montgomery did not play in Thursday’s preseason match-up against the Kansas City. Green Bay rested most of their starters in the game. Montgomery will be used primarily in passing-down and no-huddle situations this year with running back Jamaal Williams getting the majority of the snaps. Montgomery, a former wide receiver, could be used in tandem with Williams on account of his ability as a pass catcher. Still, barring something drastic such as an injury, Montgomery is unlikely to have big production on a consistent basis this year. Montgomery’s biggest obstacle so far in his career has been injuries. Even as a 225 pound wide receiver he had difficulty staying on the field. For this reason, Green Bay is likely to be cautious with his snap count.
