Randall Cobb Inactive In Thursday’s Preseason Game
6 years agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb was inactive in Green Bay’s fourth preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Green Bay rested most of their starters in the game. Cobb has had a quiet preseason to this point. He underwent minor ankle surgery in the offseason but there has been no indication that it has had a negative effect on his ability. He currently figures to be second on Green Bay’s depth chart, although he will be used primarily in the slot. There have been some rumors that Cobb may be traded or cut on account of his large contract and somewhat disappointing production over the last few years. Either seems very unlikely at this point. He is clearly the second best wide receiver on the team. While he struggles at beating press coverage and consistently creating separation, he still has excellent hands and remains dangerous after the catch. This year is unlikely to be a bounce back year for Cobb, but he will pop every few games. Cobb has always been a boom or bust type of player and could be a useful fantasy option depending on the situation.
