Ty Montgomery Leaves Game with Foot Injury
6 years agoGreen Bay Packers running back Ty Montgomery (foot) left Green Bay’s third preseason game against the Oakland Raiders with a foot injury. There aren’t many specifics about the injury but head coach Mike McCarthy said it wasn’t of a serious nature. Montgomery had four carries for 12 yards before he left the game. He also had a reception for one yard. This year, Montgomery is likely to be used in clear passing-downs and hurry up situations where his prior experience as a wide receiver can be utilized. He maintains some upside because the combination of his size and skill set could end up earning him a bigger role. His biggest obstacle will be overcoming his history of frequent injuries. If Montgomery misses any time to start the season, running back Jamaal Williams would essentially be Green Bay’s only option in the backfield. He would be in a good position to have some big games.
