Aaron Jones Hopeful to Make Preseason Debut
6 years agoAccording to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (hamstring) appears to have gotten past the worst of his injury. Head coach Mike McCarthy is hopeful that he can play a little in this week’s preseason game. Jones has missed much of the training camp because of the hamstring injury. The injury has been described as not being to be too serious. Jones is also suspended for the first two weeks of the regular season, so there hasn’t been much urgency surrounding his return. Green Bay will start the season relying on running backs Jamaal Williams and Ty Montgomery. Jones will have a tough road to take snaps away from them. Jones is the most talented runner on the team but struggled last year in pass protection and as a receiver. He will need to improve in both areas to have a realistic shot at becoming Green Bay’ top running back. Although the situation isn’t ideal, Jones does have upside, so he should be viewed as a late-round flyer in fantasy drafts.
