Ben Simmons 2018-19 Player Outlook
6 years agoPhiladelphia 76ers guard/forward Ben Simmons is coming off a strong 2018 season that saw him capture the 2018 NBA Rookie of the Year award. Projected to be selected in the late first or early second round of upcoming fantasy drafts, Simmons possesses a plethora of attributes that separates him from a good majority of the players in the league. After sitting out of what would have been his official rookie year in 2017, Simmons finished last season averaging 15.8 points on 54 percent shooting from the field. Though he had issues surrendering the ball at times, averaging 3.4 turnovers per game, he supplemented that by dishing out just over eight assists. Once you get past his shoddy free throw percentage and his lack of outside shooting ability, you have a player capable of doing it all, especially on the defensive end. If you miss out on selecting one of the elite players like New Orleans Pelicans forward/center Anthony Davis or Houston Rockets guard James Harden, don’t be upset as Simmons is capable of efficiently producing on a consistent basis. He should also improve from last season and may be ranked in the top-five in pre draft rankings come this time next year.
