Rory McIlroy Optimistic Entering Bellerive
6 years agoIf Rory McIlroy is unable to capture the Wanamaker Trophy at the PGA Championship, it will officially have been four years since the Irishman has won a grand-slam event. But despite the length of time the 29-year-old has had to wait, he remains optimistic that his drought will end at Bellerive. It is not like McIlroy hasn't had chances in the last four years. He has posted eight top-10 finishes in his previous 14 majors played, which includes a runner-up finish at the Open Championship this year. Winning a major is never easy, but McIlroy should be considered one of the favorites this weekend if he stays focused throughout all four rounds. Oddsmakers in Las Vegas have him as the second betting choice at odds of 12/1.
