Chris Godwin 2018 Outlook: Tantalizing Upside Hampered by QB Situation
6 years agoTampa Bay wide receiver Chris Godwin has the physical tools that make an ideal NFL player at his position. The second-year player out of Penn State ran a 4.42 40-yard dash and has a SPARQ score in the 95th percentile. His share of air yards went up significantly in the final two weeks of the season, leading many to speculate on a breakout in 2018, but there's one problem: his QB situation.
Jameis Winston is suspended for three games and Ryan Fitzpatrick is the backup, meaning Godwin could be limited by inconsistency. While Godwin has tons of upside, he can't be counted on for regular production just yet. Target him as a late-round flier to fill out your roster.
