Patriots Expected To Sign Eric Decker
6 years agoThe New England Patriots are expected to sign free-agent wide receiver Eric Decker to a one-year deal, according to sources. The Pats needed to add another wideout after Jordan Matthews (hamstring) was placed on Injured Reserve. Decker struggled in his lone season with Tennessee, catching just 54 passes for 563 yards and one touchdown. The 31-year-old could work out of the slot immediately to begin the season, though, with Julian Edelman suspended four games. Decker might be worth a late-round flier if he ends up starting in the slot over Phillip Dorsett. He also has history with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels from their time in Denver for one season.
