Nyheim Hines 2018 Outlook: The PPR Option To Own In Indianapolis
6 years agoThe Colts backfield is a bit crowded, but there could be plenty of work to go around. The main threat for carries will be Jordan Wilkins and Marlon Mack, but Nyheim Hines is going to see a lot of work all over the field. Whoever wins the starting job will be able to coexist with Hines and both could be productive. The last time Frank Reich had similar running back, he supplied fantasy owners with a reliable PPR option.
With Reich calling offensive plays in 2016 for the Philadelphia Eagles, Darren Sproles was the RB28 in PPR leagues. The numbers don’t jump off the page at first, but 865 total yards and 52 receptions is good production from your RB3 or flex play every week. The Colts offensive line should be improved and having Andrew Luck back will be a big help. The Colts coaching staff has made it known they will be working with a short passing game this year to keep Luck upright and get the ball out of his hand quickly. This could be a huge benefit to Hines and if he produces numbers like Sproles in 2016, he could offer some great production as a RB3 with some nice RB2 weekly upside.
