Allen Hurns 2018 Outlook: More Valuable in Reality than Fantasy
6 years agoDallas Cowboys wide receiver Allen Hurns left the run-happy Jaguars offense as one of several pass-catching options in order to inherit the WR1 job in Dallas vacated by Dez Bryant. It's a huge upgrade to his value, but the question is how much value he will truly fetch. QB Dak Prescott has publicly said that the team doesn't need a "true No. 1 receiver" and Hurns doesn't profile as one anyway. While he stands at 6'3", Hurns isn't a big body or a speed-burner, operating mainly in the slot throughout his NFL career.
Hurns could well be the leading target-getter in Dallas, but on a team that promises to run the ball first and foremost, the uptick may not be as great as expected. Hurns should provide a high floor in PPR leagues, but shouldn't be target within the first 35 WR.
