Demaryius Thomas 2018 Outlook: Ready The Bounce Back
6 years agoThe Denver Broncos offense could finally be back. Not quite the same way as when Peyton Manning was at quarterback, but much better than the last two seasons. It’s hard to believe that we are saying Case Keenum is the upgrade the Broncos needed, but here we are. One of the biggest players to benefit from the signing is wide receiver Demaryius Thomas.
Thomas was just 51 yards short of his sixth straight 1,000 yard receiving season in 2017 and eight receptions short of his sixth straight season with at least 90 catches. Even though Thomas is on the wrong side of 30, he should offer you plenty of value in 2018. The biggest reason why Thomas hasn’t been a WR1 since 2015 has been the touchdowns.
The Broncos need to move the ball in 2018 and they are set up to do just that. New rookies Courtland Sutton and Royce Freeman should help boost the offense along with Keenum, but Thomas will be the best Red Zone threat for the Broncos. Although you shouldn’t draft expecting touchdowns, except for those top tier players, you could see a rise in touchdowns for Thomas this season. Thomas will be bouncing back in 2018 and will be a steal if you can get him.
