Jarvis Landry 2018 Outlook: New Year, New Team, Same Stud
6 years agoThe Cleveland Browns made multiple impressive moves in the offseason, quite notably was the free agent signing of wide receiver Jarvis Landry for close to $15 million a year. With that type of financial commitment comes the workload that could propel Landry into being a borderline WR1 in fantasy, especially in PPR leagues.
Landry is currently being drafted in the fifth/sixth round area, which could pay off with tremendous value if he's able to stay healthy and produce at a high-rate all season. The Browns are moving in the right direction, but will still likely be trailing in many games this year and will have the need to be airing the ball out quite often.
Landry's target total the last three seasons in Miami were 166, 131 and 161 with all three seasons resulting in at least 94 catches. Before last season, it was tough for Landry to find the end zone, but he quieted the critics as he scored nine touchdowns in 2017. The Browns may not score too many touchdowns this year, but Landry could very well test Josh Gordon for the touchdown lead among Cleveland wide receivers with either Tyrod Taylor or Baker Mayfield throwing the pigskin.
