D'Onta Foreman 2018 Outlook: Recovery From Achilles Rupture Will Determine Value
6 years agoLast season, Houston Texans rookie running back D'Onta Foreman spent the first half of the season passing the eye test and looking poised to take over for Lamar Miller as the team's top running back. Foreman rushed for 327 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 78 carries and he added six catches for 83 yards as well. That rise ended, though, when Foreman went down with a ruptured Achilles tendon, an injury that ended his rookie season after 10 games and gave the reins of the run game back to Miller. Achilles injuries are difficult to come back from, so Foreman will once again open the season as the clear number two back to Miller. How he recovers and how his footwork and speed look post-injury will determine if he's a fantasy sleeper or just a fantasy dud in 2018, something that will be hard to judge until we see him in action during the preseason. Consider Foreman a risk right now.
