Aaron Jones Suspended for Two Games
6 years agoGreen Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones has been suspended for the first two games of the NFL season for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy. Jones was arrested in October of 2017 on a marijuana-related charge. It is unclear what Green Bay’s running back rotation will look like in 2018. Jones and fellow running backs Ty Montgomery and Jamaal Williams all have a strong case to receive carries. Of the three, Jones has the highest upside. In order to fulfill that potential, though, he will need to improve his pass protection and stay healthy. He appeared to be on track to do just that, but this suspension definitely hurts his case. Although there are a lot of unknowns revolving around Green Bay’s backfield, you can be confident that they will be utilizing some type of running back by committee in an already pass-heavy offense. It currently seems unlikely that any one running back will end up with a big workload in 2018.
