Bryan Rust Signs Four-Year Deal To Remain in Pittsburgh
6 years agoThe Pittsburgh Penguins signed versatile winger Bryan Rust to a four-year contract worth $14 million on Tuesday. Rust, a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Penguins in 2016 and 2017, posted a career-high 38 points (13 goals, 25 assists) in 69 games last season. The former third-round selection in the 2010 draft has compiled 79 points (33 goals, 46 assists) in 181 career games and has proven that he can play up and down the Pittsburgh lineup. For right now, Rust's value is limited to deeper fantasy leagues, but he does provide short-term production when he happens to jump up into Pittsburgh's top-six forward group alongside either Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin.
