7 years agoThe Colorado Rockies demoted infielder Daniel Castro to Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move to promote outfielder Mike Tauchman. Castro was initially tagged as part of a platoon that the team hoped would fill in for then-injured second baseman DJ LeMahieu, but that plan was eventually abandoned after both halves of the platoon were terrible at the plate. Castro was only hitting .174, and he hasn't shown any upside to warrant a trip back to the majors anytime soon. LeMahieu is back and is healthy, too.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
