Dexter Fowler Hopes for a Better Second Season in St. Louis
7 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals outfielder Dexter Fowler is hoping for a better season this year than he had last year. 2017 was Fowler's first year with the Cardinals, and he slashed .264/.363/.488 with 18 home runs and 64 RBI, but he was only able to play in 118 games. Injuries were a bit of an issue for Fowler in 2017 as they have been for a lot of his career. Still, when on the field, he is usually an effective fantasy piece. According to manager Mike Matheny, Fowler is slated to hit first in a Cardinals lineup that should produce plenty of runs. He'll also be likely playing in a corner outfield spot this year instead of in center field, perhaps limiting his chances to get injured. Fowler is hard to rank in fantasy drafts, but he's someone that shouldn't last into the later rounds.
