Jose Ramirez Set Up For Another Productive Season in 2018
7 years agoCleveland Indians infielder Jose Ramirez is looking like a good bet for another strong season in 2018. Ramirez finished 2017 with a .318/.374/.583 line to go with 29 home runs and 83 RBI. His BABIP was only slightly above his career average and actually lower than it was in 2016. His walk and strikeout rates were also consistent with his career averages. The only big change came in Ramirez's overall power. The 29 home runs obliterated his previous career high of 11 and his .265 ISO soared past his previous high of .150. Advanced metrics make the power surge seem sustainable though, making Ramirez a legitimate threat for 30 home runs in 2018. According to several sources, the Indians will send Jason Kipnis back to second base, leaving third base to Ramirez. His multiple position eligibility (2B and 3B) makes Ramirez even more valuable in the fantasy world.
