EXPERT ANALYSIS: You have probably been hearing about Travis Jankowski's speed for the past several weeks and rightfully so. With 28 stolen bases, he is now sixth in the Majors, which is extraordinary considering he didn't become a starter until nearly midway through the year. He should be getting more due for his hitting, however, as he has increased his average to a more respectable .254. He is hitting .289 in the past month and has improved his walk rate to 13.6%. Beware his atrocious splits against lefties - he is hitting a mere .123 in 57 AB versus southpaws. He remains in the lineup almost every day due to his defense, so leagues with daily lineups will want to monitor his matchups accordingly. Although the first, second, and third reason to own Jankowski are stolen bases, his AVG and OBP are catching up quickly and making him more viable in deep leagues.
