BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 7% of Fleaflicker Leagues
EXPERT ANALYSIS: It's all about opportunity. The Mets' various losses have gained valuable playing time for Wilmer Flores across the diamond. David Wright's injury led to extended time at third base, although the addition of Jose Reyes means less time there. Still, Flores will continue to be used occasionally at the hot corner while Reyes eases back into Major League action and to spell lefties Neil Walker and James Loney against LHP. Flores is slashing .317/.371/.667 against lefties, so that's the time to utilize him. Flores doesn't project to be a huge power bat and he is likely to remain a utility player, but it's getting hard to ignore his production over the last month. He has hit seven HR, 15 RBI in just 55 AB with a .291 AVG and 1.024 OPS. The main issue is his lack of consistent playing time. Should the Mets suffer another setback in the infield, Flores could be extremely valuable as a bench asset both in fantasy and real life. As of right now, he makes for a decent streaming option against lefties in deep leagues or a value play in DFS formats when you know he will be in the lineup.
