Josh Hines-Allen 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook: Finally An IDP Star
3 months agoMany of us had superstar expectations when Josh Hines-Allen came out of Kentucky. He was an incredibly athletic and productive pass rusher who would have been the top edge off the board in draft classes without Nick Bosa at the top. Unfortunately, Allen's production fizzled after a strong rookie campaign. He was so disappointing between 2020-2022 that some longtime fans wrote him off as a reliable IDP option. Of course, Allen chose that time to set career highs in sacks and TFLs while producing the second-best tackle numbers of his career. The former Wildcat was also a contender for the sack crown up until the end. It was production that Allen's physical skills and advanced metrics said he had in him, yet he'd not delivered it until now. Of course, many will wonder which is the real Allen, the guy from last year or the three seasons prior? The answer isn't clear, but advanced metrics and pass rush rates suggest 2023 was a fair reflection of what he truly is. Factor in the addition of a savvy interior defender like Arik Armstead, and Allen should again produce as a top-ten DL.
