Malik Washington 2024 Outlook: Attempting to Make Waves in Miami
6 months agoThe Miami Dolphins selected Virginia WR Malik Washington in the sixth round (No. 185 overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft. A former transfer from Northwestern, Washington burst onto the college football scene last fall putting up 111 receptions for 1,384 yards and 9 TDs and was just about all of the team's offensive output in 2023. Washington also averaged an impressive 3.15 yards per routes run (per PFF). He is primarily a slot receiver and could fit in nicely with the Dolphins' offense as WR Tyreek Hill and WR Jaylen Waddle tend to play more on the outside. The team signed free-agent WR Odell Beckham Jr. to be their WR3, but the rest of the depth chart is wide open after that. Washington could become a viable WR handcuff in fantasy should Hill or Waddle miss any time. Many scouts were surprised he fell to the sixth round of the draft, and while it's no guarantee that Washington makes the team, he should be on your radar all summer as a late sleeper due to the potential upside for WRs in Mike McDaniels' offense.
