Jonathan Mingo 2024 Outlook: Trying to Regain Footing on Team's WR Depth Chart
6 months agoCarolina Panthers WR Jonathan Mingo didn't do much in his rookie season after the team selected him in Round 2 (No. 40 overall) in the 2023 NFL Draft to pair with fellow rookie QB Bryce Young. Mingo finished with just 43 receptions for 418 yards and 0 TDs on 83 targets and averaged a paltry 0.78 yards per routes run. The Panthers offense struggled to get anything going and stumbled to a 2-15 finish. This offseason the front office traded for WR Diontae Johnson and drafted South Carolina WR Xavier Legette at No. 32 overall on top of already having veteran WR Adam Thielen in the fold. Right now, Mingo is likely the team's WR4 and could struggle to see the field. While we shouldn't completely write him off just yet, Mingo will need to develop into a more complete WR and the Panthers' offense will need to take a huge leap under new head coach Dave Canales in 2024. Right now, Mingo is only viable as a dart throw in the deepest of formats but could have some buy-low value in dynasty formats if Carolina is willing to be patient with him.
