Gus Edwards 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook: All Aboard The Gus Bus?
6 months agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Gus Edwards is primed for another considerable touchdown season. After scoring 13 touchdowns for the Ravens in 2023, the "Gus Bus" is headed to Los Angeles on a two-year deal to reunite with Greg Roman as the offensive coordinator. Edwards has always been a low-volume, high-efficiency running back. He had averaged at least five yards per carry in every season except 2023 when he was primarily used as a short-yardage weapon. Additionally, Edwards' main competition in the backfield is J.K. Dobbins (Achilles), who is coming off a torn Achilles, and sixth-round rookie Kimani Vidal. The Chargers have indicated that they want to run the ball with their offseason moves. They should be effective at doing so with an improved offensive line. Even though the Chargers' offense is not loaded with elite weapons, expect this team to move the ball effectively. That will create plenty of goal-line opportunities for Edwards. If Edwards is still the highly efficient runner he was before 2023, then he could push for another 800-yard and double-digit touchdown season. Edwards is currently being drafted as the RB43, but he should provide flex value in most weeks and could be a solid RB2 should injuries hamper Dobbins. RotoBaller agrees with Edwards, who is ranked as the RB36.
