Justin Herbert 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook: An Excellent Target For The Price
6 months agoLos Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert's (foot) early ADP of 112.86 places him at QB17 behind players such as Tua Tagovailoa and Brock Purdy. Additionally, RotoBaller has Herbert ranked at QB18. Herbert's 2024 fantasy stock has crumbled, given his lackluster 2023 season, the perceived lack of weapons on the Chargers, and the expected shift to a run-heavy offense. Injuries and a flailing season limited Herbert to 3,184 yards and 20 touchdowns in 13 games in 2023. He missed the last four weeks of 2023 with a finger injury that required surgery. However, his QBR was still good for fifth in the league. The farther Herbert falls into fantasy, the more intriguing he is. His top targets from last season, Keenan Allen and Mike Williams (knee), are gone. The Chargers added Ladd McConkey during the draft and hope for a second-year leap from Quentin Johnston. Josh Palmer is also a solid third option. The Chargers also added veteran wide receiver DJ Chark this offseason. Herbert is also an excellent athlete, and offensive coordinator Greg Roman should find ways to use Herbert's legs. However, with Herbert nursing a plantar fascia injury in his foot, his usage on the ground may suffer as a result. Herbert's passing attempts will inevitably go down this year, but the offense's efficiency should go up with Roman and Jim Harbaugh running the show. Lamar Jackson and Colin Kaepernick delivered plenty of passing touchdowns under Greg Roman in highly efficient offenses. Herbert is a far superior passer to both. If he can score around five touchdowns with his legs, he could be a top-10 quarterback. Herbert is much more attractive at his price than some of the pocket passers being drafted in the top 10.
