The 2024 wide receiver class is stacked. If your dynasty team needs pass-catchers, then congratulations. You’ve hit the jackpot.
One player who is unanimously seen as one of the top-three wide receiver prospects is the University of Washington’s Rome Odunze. He is expected to hear his name called somewhere within the first 10 picks Thursday night.
With the NFL Draft only one day away, who will select Odunze? Which teams are the best fit? Let’s take a look and explore some options.

Rome Odunze Prospect Profile
While Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers are mostly seen as the top-two options in this class, Odunze is not far behind.
Man Rome Odunze is just good. Contested catch monster to go along with superb route running.

He is an impressive route runner who knows how to leverage defenders and create separation like an experienced vet. Odunze also thrives in contested-catch situations and routinely out-mans defenders when going after the ball. Among receivers with at least 30 targets, Odunze ranked 15th in the nation in yards per route run (YPRR), per Pro Football Focus (PFF).
Film? Check. Data? Check. To put things in not-so-eloquent terms: This dude can ball.

Which Teams Would be the Best Fit for Rome Odunze?
Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers gave longtime starters Keenan Allen and Mike Williams the boot this offseason. As a result, Justin Herbert needs a new weapon. Odunze would immediately step in as the top target in this offense. With 176 vacated targets and a stud quarterback in Herbert, Odunze could be looking at a monster rookie season in Los Angeles.
New York Jets
While the Jets did sign the aforementioned Mike Williams in free agency, he turns 30 years old in October and is coming off a torn ACL. New York needs to find a running mate to pair with third-year receiver Garrett Wilson. Odunze would be the perfect complement. He wouldn’t be the clear-cut top option, but that shouldn’t worry fantasy gamers. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers supported multiple fantasy-relevant receivers for years in Green Bay. It’s hard to ask for a better landing spot than playing with a future Hall of Fame quarterback.
Buffalo Bills
Alright, we are playing fantasy GM a bit on this one. Buffalo is currently slated to pick at the end of the first round at 28th overall. There is no scenario where Odunze falls this far. The Bills would have to do some gymnastics to climb high enough to select him. Should that somehow happen, the sky is the limit. Buffalo lost both Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis this offseason. It did add Curtis Samuel, but there’s a clear need for a WR1 here. Pairing a player like Odunze, who can win at all levels and line up all over the field, with Josh Allen is enough to make your mouth water.
