Gavin Stone 2024 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Solid Late-Round Pick After Winning The Last Spot In The Dodgers' Rotation
9 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers right-hander Gavin Stone had a disastrous 2023 debut. The 25-year-old posted a 9.00 ERA in 31 innings, with a 22:13 K: BB. For 2024, ATC projects him with a 4.96 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP with a poor 8.6 K/9. The minor league track record is the same: Stone had a 4.74 ERA and 1.31 WHIP in 100 2/3 innings. After his vital 2024 spring training, where he pitched to a 0.93 ERA with nine strikeouts across 9 2/3 innings, Stone earned himself the last spot in the Dodgers rotation, confirmed by Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register. If Stone can rein in his stuff and his command in the majors, there's no telling how many games he could win on a stacked Dodgers team. At his average NFBC ADP of 286 since being announced as the Dodgers' fifth starter, draft him within the top 300 players and see if he can stick; the rewards could be plentiful.
