9 months agoDallas Mavericks center Dereck Lively II (personal) won't be available for Saturday's contest against the Pistons. The rookie big man appeared to have hurt his calf on Thursday against Miami, but he will be out of the lineup for personal reasons. Lively II dropped to the bench for the first time in eight games on Thursday. Daniel Gafford took on the starter's role at center and looks set for a busy night without Lively II on Saturday. The former Washington player has posted 11.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks as a starter in 2023-24. Centers are shooting 59.5 percent against Detroit, so this is a very favorable matchup for Gafford.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
