Seahawks Releasing Jamal Adams, Quandre Diggs
9 months agoThe Seattle Seahawks are releasing three-time Pro Bowl safeties Jamal Adams (knee) and Quandre Diggs on Tuesday, according to sources. The moves save the team $27.5 million in cash on this year's salary cap and will give Seattle's secondary a much different look this year under new head coach Mike MacDonald. Adams, 28, who played in only nine games in 2023 due to injury, was going to make a non-guaranteed $16.5 million this year and count $26.9 million against the salary cap. The former first-rounder in 2017 has game-changing defensive abilities as a safety, but he's become too big of an injury concern as he approaches his 30s. Diggs, 30, has been a Pro Bowler four times in his career (from 2020-22) remained productive in 2023 with a career-high 95 tackles (63 solo) and an interception in 17 starts.
