Josh Jung To Play In Minor-League Game
9 months agoTexas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung (calf) will hit in a minor-league game at spring training on Tuesday. He still isn't running 100 percent but might not be far from serving as a designated hitter in a Cactus League game. Jung took live batting practice on Monday after he was cleared to resume baseball activities over the weekend. The 26-year-old is recovering from a calf strain he suffered early in camp but still has time to get ready for Opening Day on March 28. Injuries could be the only think keeping Jung back from being a true star at the third base position eventually. RotoBaller has him ranked as the No. 10 fantasy third baseman. He was a first-time All-Star in 2023 in his first full big-league season despite missing extended time with a thumb injury. Jung finished last regular season with a .266/.315/.467 slash line ,23 homers and 70 RBI in just 122 contests.
