10 months agoThe Athletic's Nick Kosmider writes that Denver Broncos wide receiver Tim Patrick (Achilles) stands out as an obvious cut candidate as the team enters the offseason at around $24 million over the salary cap threshold. Patrick has missed each of the last two years with injuries suffered during training camp -- first a torn ACL in 2022, and then a torn Achilles in 2023. The injuries came on the heels of a three-year, $30 million deal that he signed with the team in November of 2021, which came with $18.5 million guaranteed. The 30-year-old is set to count $15.5 million against the cap this year, but he has no guaranteed money left on his deal. Releasing him would free up $9.5 million in cap space. Patrick was one of the more underrated pass-catchers before his two season-ending injuries, but his fantasy stock has gone out the window due to his two unfortunate injuries the last two summers.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
