Kliff Kingsbury To Have Full Control Of Offense
10 months agoAlthough Brian Johnson has the assistant head coach tag with the Washington Commanders for the 2024 season, offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury will still retain full control of the offense. The assistant head coach tag is more to give Johnson experience with the organizational side and the things that head coaches handle that may help set him up for future head-coaching opportunities down the road. Washington is set up with the second overall pick in the upcoming draft and is expected to pursue a quarterback to replace Sam Howell, who was up and down in 2023 in his first full season as the team's starting signal-caller. Kingsbury was known for his spread offenses that were aggressive through the air in college, but his offenses were much more balanced when he was the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals.
