Brad Idzik To Serve As Panthers Offensive Coordinator
11 months agoThe Carolina Panthers are hiring Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receivers coach Brad Idzik as their new offensive coordinator, according to sources. Idzik followed new Panthers head coach Dave Canales from the Seattle Seahawks to the Buccaneers and will again follow him to the Panthers, but Canales will be calling the offensive plays in 2024. The 32-year-old Idzik has never been a play-caller. Prior to 2023, he spent four years with Canales in Seattle as the assistant wide receivers coach. His specialty has been developing receivers, which the Panthers are going to need in order to give quarterback Bryce Young some help after a disastrous rookie season. From 2019 to 2022, Idzik's receivers had the second-most receiving touchdowns (92) in the NFL, the third-most air yards per target (11.6) and the seventh-highest receiving percentage (65.7).
