Dodgers Meet With Yoshinobu Yamamoto On Tuesday
1 year agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers met with Japanese free-agent right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto on Tuesday in Los Angeles as he continues to meet with teams, according to sources. After already landing two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani over the weekend, the Dodgers are aggressively pursuing Yamamoto. The flexibility that Ohtani's contract provides will allow the Dodgers to make room for addition marquee free agents like Yamamoto. The 25-year-old Yamamoto is one of the top free-agent arms available this offseason and is expected to command a deal worth more than $200 million. He has already met with the San Francisco Giants and New York Yankees and is expected to meet with the Boston Red Sox in the coming days. Yamamoto may not make his final decision for another week or two.
