Teoscar Hernandez On Dodgers Radar
1 year agoFree-agent outfielder Teoscar Hernandez is on the Los Angeles Dodgers' radar. The Dodgers could use a corner outfielder and have shown interest in Hernandez before. He was an All-Star in 2021 and has at least 22 home runs in each full season since he became a regular in the league in 2018. The 31-year-old is also more attractive this offseason after the Seattle Mariners didn't extend him a qualifying offer, so the Dodgers wouldn't have to give up draft-pick compensation to bring him in this winter. Hernandez has developed a reputation for being a streaker hitter. He finished his first and possibly only season in Seattle in 2023 by slashing .258/.305/.435 with 26 home runs, 29 doubles, two triples, 93 RBI, seven stolen bases and 70 runs scored in 160 games. His .741 OPS and 106 OPS+ were among the lowest of his career for any of his full seasons played, and his 31.1% strikeout rate was the highest on the team and fifth-highest in MLB.
