Clayton Kershaw Undergoes Shoulder Surgery
1 year agoLos Angeles Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) announced on his Instagram account that he underwent left-shoulder surgery on Friday morning to fix the gleno-humeral ligaments and his shoulder capsule. Kershaw said he is "hopeful to return to play at some point next summer." The 35-year-old impending free agent is apparently not ready to retire, but he might be looking at missing the entire first half of the 2024 season after going under the knife. He's probably looking at either returning to the Dodgers or pitching for the World Series-champion Texas Rangers to close out his Hall of Fame career. When healthy in 2023, Kershaw was great, going 13-5 with a 2.46 ERA (4.03 FIP), 1.06 WHIP, 40 walks and 137 strikeouts in 131 2/3 innings over 24 starts. Kershaw is near the end of his career and has battled numerous injuries in recent years, but he still has something left to give fantasy managers when he's on the mound.
