Corey Seager Wins Second World Series MVP Award
1 year agoTexas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager helped the Rangers win their first-ever World Series title on Wednesday night by beating the Arizona Diamondbacks, and he also was named World Series MVP for the second time in his career, becoming just the fourth player in MLB history to do so. Seager and Reggie Jackson are the only two players to have ever won two World Series MVP awards with two different teams, with Seager's first coming in 2020 with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He also won the NLCS MVP that year. The 29-year-old lefty slugger went deep in three of the five games of the Fall Classic and went 6-for-21 (.286) with three home runs, a double, three walks, six RBI and six runs scored in total in the series. Seager now has two World Series titles, two World Series MVPs, the 2020 NLCS MVP, the 2016 NL Rookie of the Year award, two Silver Sluggers and four All-Star appearances.
