Clayton Kershaw Could Have Shoulder Re-Examined
1 year agoFollowing the Los Angeles Dodgers' early exit from the postseason via a sweep at the hands of the Arizona Diamondbacks in the National League Division Series, left-hander Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) will have some more decisions to make as to whether he'll return for another season in 2024. He said he will take longer to decide this offseason and is considering undergoing an additional examination on his left shoulder, which he injured in late June. The injury led to reduced fastball velocity and diminished command in the final month of the season. The future Hall of Famer gave up six runs in just a third of an inning in Game 1 of the NLDS. He's been hurt in recent seasons, but when he's been out there, he has remained mostly effective. The 35-year-old southpaw made his 10th All-Star team this summer and had a strong 2.46 ERA in 24 regular season starts.
