Jordan Montgomery Not Sharp In Game 2 No-Decision
1 year agoTexas Rangers left-hander Jordan Montgomery was thankful to come out of Game 2 of the American League Division Series with just a no-decision on Sunday against the Baltimore Orioles after he allowed five runs (four earned) on nine hits (one homer) while walking one and striking out two in his four innings of work. Luckily, the Rangers offense was up to the task and put up 11 runs in the win to bail Montgomery out of a loss. The 30-year-old southpaw was making just his fourth career playoff appearance (three starts) after tossing seven shutout innings to beat the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 1 of the wild-card series last week. Sunday was easily Montgomery's worst postseason outing, as he hadn't allowed more than one earned run in his previous three appearances.
