Mike Trout's Season Is Over
1 year agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (wrist) was moved to the 60-day injured list on Sunday, and manager Phil Nevin said that Trout's season is over. Trout was hoping to return for the final week of the regular season, but he's not going to end up making it back after all. The 32-year-old fractured the hamate bone in his left hand/wrist in early July and made it back for one game in August before aggravating his wrist and going back on the injured list. He will finish his 2023 campaign with a .263/.367/.490 slash line with 18 home runs and 44 RBI in 362 plate appearances. Trout is no longer in his prime and is much more of an injury risk than ever before, but he should be fully healthy and ready to contribute for the start of the 2024 season.
