1 year agoThe Atlanta Braves placed left-hander Max Fried (finger) on the 15-day injured list on Friday with a blister on his left index finger and recalled right-hander Darius Vines from the minors in a corresponding move. Fried looked great in his start on Thursday in a win over the Washington Nationals, giving up just one run on a solo homer while walking one and striking out seven in six innings of work, but his blister issues returned in the outing and now he'll miss the rest of the 2023 regular season. The Braves are most likely playing it safe with the 29-year-old All-Star and hope that the blister will be a thing of the past once the postseason begins. Fried will finish the 2023 campaign with a 8-1 record, 2.55 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 80 strikeouts in 77 2/3 innings over his 14 starts.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
