Julio Rodriguez Joins Exclusive Club
1 year agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez went 4-for-5 with his 30th home run of the year, a double, two RBI and two runs scored in the 8-5 loss to the visiting Los Angeles Angels in 11 innings on Monday night. With the strong performance, Rodriguez joined Braves superstar Ronald Acuna Jr. as the only players with 30 home runs and 30 stolen bases in 2023. Last year's American League Rookie of the Year has been even better in his second year in the big leagues, slashing .287/.342/.504 with an .847 OPS, 30 long balls, 33 doubles, two triples, 97 RBI, 36 stolen bases and 92 runs scored in 137 games. His 168 hits lead the league. Since Aug. 13, J-Rod has gone an absurd 47-for-112 (.420) with 11 homers, eight doubles, a triple, 31 RBI, nine steals and 23 runs in 24 starts. He can do it all.
